How Long Does Conservatory Roof Installation Take?

Our in-house installation teams are experienced, well-equipped, and focused on a clean, efficient job. For a standard conservatory — whether lean-to, Victorian or Edwardian — the full process of removing the old roof, installing the insulated frame, fitting the tiles, and completing the internal ceiling finish is typically done within one working day.

This is one of the most common pieces of feedback we hear from customers: they expected a multi-day project and were genuinely surprised to have their new roof completed by teatime.

What About Larger or More Complex Jobs?

Some installations take longer:

• Large conservatories — a particularly large footprint may require two days to allow for proper installation of both the external tiling and internal ceiling
• Structural work — if the existing frame needs reinforcing or any alteration, this adds time
• Complex roof shapes — hipped ends, internal valleys or unusual geometry take longer to tile neatly
• Additional features — adding a roof lantern or Velux window extends the job

What Happens on Installation Day?

The sequence on a typical installation day is:

• Team arrives (typically 7:30–8:30am)
• Protect the conservatory floor and surrounding area
• Remove and dispose of the existing roof panels
• Install the insulated roof framework
• Tile the exterior roof
• Install the internal ceiling — plastered or boarded finish
• Complete flashings, fascias and weatherproofing
• Full clean-up inside and outside
• Walk-through with you to confirm you're happy
• Issue your 10-year guarantee documentation

Do You Need to Leave the House?

No. You can carry on with your normal day while the team works. They operate cleanly and professionally, keeping disruption to the rest of your home to an absolute minimum. Most customers don't need to do anything specific — just make sure the conservatory is reasonably clear of furniture and valuables before the day.

When Can You Use the Conservatory After Fitting?

Immediately. Once the team has finished and you've done the walk-through, your new roof is complete and ready to use. There's no curing time or waiting period. Your conservatory is transformed — from the same evening.
